Hey everyone! I'm seeking some genuine advice on my job prospects. I'm looking for a remote junior DevOps role but I don't feel like I'm a pro yet. I have been working full-time for a year, but my current job doesn't pay well—around $300 per month in Nepal.

Here are the skills I have:
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines
- Containers: Docker
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform/Terragrunt
- Cloud: AWS, GCP
- Operating System: Ubuntu
- Scripting: Bash

I can follow documentation, debug issues, and I'm eager to learn. Do you think it's realistic to get a remote junior DevOps position with my current level? What steps should I take to boost my chances? By the way, I'm also open to any job opportunities if anyone is hiring. Thanks for your help!

Absolutely, you can find a remote junior position! The key is to present yourself confidently and be genuine about your skills. I got my job with much less experience by being transparent about my knowledge. For instance, I mentioned I had used some Azure services but never claimed to be an expert. Just focus on what you can do and what you've learned so far.

I think a remote junior position might be tough. It's important to learn from your team, and in-person collaboration really helps speed up that process. However, you can still thrive by communicating over Slack and asking questions during meetings.

Honestly, with those skills, you could even target roles above junior level, depending on how recruiters view your background. Confidence is crucial; make sure your CV looks polished and professional. It might be worth investing a few bucks in an app to help you put it together.

I see a lot of no votes, but honestly, the skills you've mentioned are relevant in the field. I'm a security engineer, and I use similar tools in my DevSecOps role, like building CI/CD pipelines and writing IaC. Don't let the negativity discourage you!
