Hey everyone, I was robbed a couple of weeks ago and lost my iPhone 16 along with my AirPods. I managed to buy a temporary iPhone to get back into my accounts and recovered about 90% of my data. However, my camera roll didn't get backed up to iCloud, and I've now lost about ten years' worth of photos and videos. Apple mentioned that my account is still logged into the stolen device. Is there any way I can access or recover that data? I know Apple's security is tight, which I usually appreciate, but it's really frustrating knowing my photos are still on the phone and just out of my reach. I'd love any help or advice on what to do next!

If the phone is still logged into your account, try using 'Find My iPhone' to locate it. You might find the device that way, and if you can, you could see if it’s been activated or changed. If you didn’t have that feature enabled, though, then it’s pretty much gone. Remember to report it as stolen and involve your mobile provider to blacklist it.
Honestly, the answer is no. Without a backup, there's no way to retrieve your photos.
Nope, if the iCloud backup wasn't set up, then there's no remote way to sync or retrieve your pictures. You might want to consider keeping a separate backup for important photos in the future.
Unfortunately, if there's no backup, it’s tough to recover what you've lost. It's a hard lesson learned about making regular backups, so hopefully, others can learn from your experience. Really sorry to hear about your situation, though!
Unless the person who has your iPhone decides to turn on iCloud backups for you, it’s highly unlikely you’ll get those photos back. It’s hard, but time to grieve that loss and really stress the importance of backups for things you care about! Have you tried using any other cloud services like Amazon Photos or OneDrive in the past?
