Hey everyone! I'm looking to build a new PC and I'd like to know if I can reuse some components from my current Acer Nitro 50-640 setup. Here's what I have:
- **CPU**: Intel i7 12700F
- **GPU**: NVIDIA RTX 3060
- **RAM**: 32GB DDR4
- **SSD**: 500GB
I'm planning to swap out the case, PSU, fans, and motherboard to create a fresh system. My main concerns are whether my GPU will work with the new motherboard, and if my CPU will be compatible with a new motherboard since my current one uses PCIe 3.0.
Also, do you think I should do a clean install of Windows after the new setup? Any advice or potential issues I should watch out for would be appreciated! Oh, and I have a budget of around 280€ for these upgrades, so any recommendations are welcome!

You should be good to go! The GPU and CPU you have are standard components that shouldn’t face compatibility issues with a new motherboard. Just make sure to check the motherboard specs. A good tip is to use sites like pcpartpicker.com to help you catch any potential incompatibilities.
As for your RTX 3060, whether it’s OEM or not, it should work fine with a non-proprietary motherboard. Double-check the specs though!
Thanks for the tip! I'm just starting out with building PCs and realizing I should've avoided buying pre-built systems. I've been wondering about which motherboard to pick. Since my GPU is a blower style RTX 3060, will it still play nicely with a new motherboard that isn’t from Acer?
