Can I run the new Oblivion remaster with a GPU that has 4GB of VRAM?

I'm checking out the system requirements for the new Oblivion remaster, and I noticed it states that the minimum GPU requirement is 8GB of VRAM. Currently, I'm using a laptop with an RTX 3050, which only has 4GB of VRAM. The game suggests a 1070 Ti with 8GB of VRAM as the minimum. Does this mean I absolutely need 8GB of VRAM to run the game? If I turn my graphics settings down to low, could I still get it to work?

While the minimum is listed as 8GB, not all games need that amount to run, especially if you back off on the graphics settings. Just keep an eye out for any potential issues, as going below the recommended specs can sometimes cause problems.

If I lower my graphics to low-medium, you think it’d still exceed 4GB usage?

From what I’ve seen, you should be able to run the game even with less than 8GB of VRAM. It’s likely to work, but performance may vary depending on the settings you choose.

Yeah, exactly! Just keep in mind that while the game lists 8GB VRAM as a requirement, it probably won’t actually use that much on lower settings.
