I'm wondering if it's possible to share my iPhone's access to a Wi-Fi network with my Mac. Currently, my iPhone can connect to this Wi-Fi network, but my Mac cannot, and I know it's not a password issue. The Mac can't access the network because there's no profile developed for it, despite the fact that it's allowed. So basically, can I share the Wi-Fi internet connection from my iPhone to my Mac without the Mac being able to connect directly?

It sounds like the Wi-Fi network requires a special configuration that only the iPhone has. Usually, if it's set up with a profile like 802.1X or has MAC address filtering, that can prevent other devices from joining. However, sharing might not be possible unless those additional configurations are replicated on the Mac.
Nope, there's no way to share that Wi-Fi connection with your Mac since the profiles don't match. You'll need to access the Internet on your iPhone and potentially use screen sharing or similar options to work on your Mac if that's possible.
Thanks for confirming. Since it's strictly a provisioning issue, I'll have to come up with another strategy for my work.
Unfortunately, you can't use your iPhone's Wi-Fi directly with your Mac if the Mac isn't configured for that network. The way it’s provisioned means there’s no accessible password, and the Mac can't connect. Have you thought about any other methods like using a USB-C to Ethernet adapter to bridge the connection?
That would be a creative workaround! Although you still need to check if your network allows sharing through those methods.
Exactly! You're spot on. If the Mac can't join due to lack of a profile, then sharing won't work. You'd actually need to set it up similarly on the Mac first.
