I've been hearing that 12GB of VRAM isn't going to cut it for future games, so I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to a 5070 Ti, which has 16GB of VRAM. As someone who doesn't have a huge budget, I'd prefer to make a single purchase for my upgrades. I'm currently using an AM4 motherboard and I want to avoid upgrading to AM5 along with my GPU and CPU. Is there a decent CPU combo for the AM4 motherboard that will work well with a 5070 Ti, or should I give up on this idea?

You should be fine with a high-end AM4 CPU. I run a 4070 Ti with an older 11700K, which is somewhat comparable to a 5800X, and I don't see any major CPU bottlenecking, especially when playing at 4K.
The best CPUs you can get for AM4 are the 5700X3D or 5800X3D, but they stopped production last year. You can still find them on secondhand markets, though. Alternatively, you might look into the 5800XT, 5800X, or 5700X as options that should work well too.
What CPU are you currently using? That info could help steer us in the right direction!
Oh right, I forgot to mention! I'm currently on a Ryzen 7 3700X and using an RTX 2060. I know I'm behind, and I'm looking to upgrade both my GPU and CPU without getting a new motherboard.
Just to clarify, if you get either the 5700X3D or the 5800X3D, you won't really be bottlenecked by your CPU with the 5070 Ti. Just be prepared for the price tag, though; they can be quite steep right now!
Yeah, I just looked up their prices and I see that might be a challenge!
Honestly, don't worry too much about it until you hit a game that doesn't run smoothly. Your 3700X should handle most current games just fine unless you're aiming for super high frame rates like 240 FPS.

I can still find those CPUs pretty easily, so I think I'll be good!
