Is there a way to configure a 32-inch 4K monitor to display content at 1080p while only using a portion of the screen (like 24 inches) to maintain pixel density? I'm using Windows 11, and I'm curious if this is possible.

Just right-click on your desktop and go to Display Settings. From there, scroll down to Scale & Layout and change the Display Resolution to 1080p. I haven't tried adjusting the physical dimensions on my monitor, so I can't help with that part.
NVIDIA Control Panel should have scaling options, and you can choose whether your GPU or display handles it. AMD has similar settings, so check the display section in Adrenaline. This might help with windowed mode issues when alt-tabbing from smaller resolutions.
You can actually set this up through your GPU driver! For games, enable scaling and choose the "center" option. This will keep a 1:1 pixel match, making the image smaller and leaving black borders on the sides. As for Windows desktop settings, I'm not sure if the OS needs to run at the monitor's native resolution or not; I haven't dug into that yet.
