I recently purchased a Cooler Master 850 MWE v2 fully modular power supply, but I noticed it only comes with two PCIe cables instead of the three I expected. I got a great deal on it and prefer not to return it. Is it safe to use a different PCIe cable with this power supply, or is there a risk of damaging it?

If you're connecting something like an RTX 3080, two PCIe cables might actually be enough, but make sure you're using high-quality cables. You can test the new cable, but proceed with caution to avoid frying the PSU!
It's a good idea to double-check the pinouts of the new power cable because there isn't a universal standard for modular power connections. If the cable doesn't match, it could break something. Just to clarify, your current two PCIe cables can already provide 600W combined, so it doesn't seem necessary for the power supply to include more than that. What exactly are you trying to power with your setup?
