I accidentally damaged the SATA port on my 4TB WD SSD, but it's still recognized and works fine, except that it doesn't lock securely when I plug the cable in. Since I only use it to install games and don't care about the data, I'm wondering if it's safe to continue using it this way. I enabled the hot swap feature just in case it slips out, but I'm concerned about potentially damaging my PC. What do you think?

I can imagine what you’re dealing with! If the SATA port is damaged but no metal is exposed, it should generally be okay. But posting a picture could help clarify the situation for us.
To keep that cable from moving around, I’d recommend using some hot glue to hold it in place, just like we do with 3D printer boards. You can always use a hairdryer to remove it later if needed.
Just be wary of any vibrations that might pull the cable out—consider taping it down or securing it somehow. While your PC is unlikely to fry, it could add stress on your power supply, which might affect its longevity.
It’s pretty unlikely that you’d damage your PC, but the drive could potentially short out if it comes loose. Just make sure to secure it—some electrical tape should do the trick.
If the connectors are still intact and you can keep it steady, you should be good. The lock isn't absolutely necessary, but make sure it doesn’t move too much while in use, as that could be risky. Hot swap is a nice precaution, but just ensure everything is secure in case it slips out.
