I'm currently using an Asus ROG Kyojin 360mm AIO cooler and planning to upgrade my CPU from an Intel 8700K to an AMD 9800X3D. I want to know if I can keep using my existing cooler for this upgrade, or if I'll need to get new mounting brackets or hardware.

Just to clarify, the 8700K is an Intel chip, right? Sounds like you're making a jump to AMD, which is a significant change. Make sure your cooler is compatible with that transition!

Yep, that's right! I'm moving from Intel to AMD, just wanted to make sure my cooler would still work.

Good news! The cooler mounting methods for AM4 and AM5 are pretty much the same, so you should be able to use your current cooler without any issues. Just make sure you have the right brackets. However, there have been some reports about a few coolers requiring specific backplates to work properly on AM5, so it's worth double-checking.

Yeah, I heard that some coolers might have issues with the AM5 backplate. It might be a good idea to look into that before making a final decision.

Also, don’t forget that the Asus ROG Kyojin cooler has two small brackets on the back, so just keep that in mind!
