I found an unopened CPU cooler that I've had for about a decade, and I'm wondering if it's compatible with my setup. Specifically, I want to know if it will work with my ASUS TUF Gaming B850-E WiFi motherboard and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Do I need to purchase a new cooler? Here's a link to the cooler: https://imgur.com/a/mIdROVx. Thanks!

It might technically fit, but I personally wouldn't recommend using it. For about $20, you could get something like a Thermalright Assassin that would outperform it. If you're willing to spend a bit more, a dual tower cooler like the Peerless Assassin for around $35 would be an even better choice.

Gotcha, thanks for the suggestions. I'll start looking for the best cooling options for my budget.

Unfortunately, that cooler won't work with your motherboard setup. You’ll definitely need to get a new cooler for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Wow, didn’t expect such a quick answer, thank you!

Nope, that cooler isn't suitable. For a powerful CPU like the X3D, you need a good cooler. Many people recommend AIO (All-in-One) coolers for these CPUs.

Okay, I’ll start researching something more suitable. Thanks for the heads up!
