Can Someone Automatically Click a Button as Soon as It Appears?

I'm working in a remote sales position, and we sometimes get chat leads that pop up on our website. The issue is that one person on our team can snatch up these leads almost instantly as they become available. It feels like they have some kind of trick up their sleeve. Is it possible for someone to set up a system that automatically clicks the button the moment it appears? Or could this just be a wild guess on my part?

Absolutely, it's not too difficult to create a script that can click a button the moment it shows up. You could do this using JavaScript, either by pasting a small snippet into the browser's console, using a JavaScript bookmarklet, or even developing a simple browser extension.

It's totally feasible! I once accidentally blacklisted myself from a couple of sale drops because I wrote a script that clicked buttons in virtually no time at all. Those sales can be super competitive, and I just wanted to grab one item. Be cautious though if you're thinking of trying something similar!

Your hunch about that person is probably spot on. It's indeed possible for them to have set something like this up. If you want to replicate it yourself, you might want to learn some basic JavaScript or find an AI tool to assist you.
