I built my PC earlier this year and skipped on getting a GPU due to high prices. Now that the prices have dropped, I'm looking to buy a GPU that can handle ultra 1440p gaming. I'm hesitant to pay an extra $120 for the XT version, so I'm wondering if the 9070 would be sufficient for my needs. Here's a quick rundown of my current specs:
- Ryzen 5 7600
- 32 GB RAM
- Ant Esport Air 211 case
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum v3 cooler
- Cooler Master Gold v2 750W PSU
- MSI B650M Gaming WiFi motherboard
I really want to get more than 60 fps since my monitor runs at 100Hz.

You should look into benchmarks for the 9070. It performs decently, especially compared to the XT. The 9070 is pretty efficient too, but you may have to settle for lower settings in the most demanding games.
I run my games at 1440p with a similar setup, and my 6750 XT handles everything at high/ultra settings really well. The 9070 should do fine in most cases, but just keep in mind that some super demanding games might not hit the framerate you’re hoping for without some settings adjustments.
Got it, thanks! That's good to know.
Honestly, if you don't want to spend the extra money for the XT, the 9070 is a great option. Just be prepared to tweak some settings here and there, especially for newer titles that are more demanding. You'll probably still enjoy solid performance overall.
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind!
The 9070 should be fine for ultra 1440p gaming, but it really depends on the game and the settings you're using. For less demanding games, you might get great performance but might need to tweak settings for some of the more intense titles.
Thanks, I was mainly worried about newer AAA titles.
Right, but is the XT version really worth the extra cash if I can find the 9070 cheaper?
