Choosing Between RTX 2080 and Newer Options for Oblivion Remastered

I'm in a bit of a pickle trying to decide on a GPU. My current one just can't handle the latest games, especially after I attempted to play Oblivion Remastered. I'm fine with keeping it at 60 fps and 1080p, with no ray tracing or anything fancy. The recommended GPU is the RTX 2080, but I've also heard from others that I should consider the RTX 5060 Ti instead. I've seen reviews saying that modern games might need a 16GB GPU to run well, but Oblivion's recommendation is just for the 8GB 2080. Am I missing something? Which GPU do you think is best for running Oblivion Remastered without any issues?

You should be okay running Oblivion Remastered at 1080p60 with the RTX 2080! It's a solid card for that kind of performance. Plus, if you're not cranking up the settings too high or using ray tracing, you should have a smooth experience. Don't sweat the 8GB RAM part too much for this game.

I appreciate the reassurance! I was worried I'd encounter stuttering issues with just 8GB, but it seems like it should be good enough for now.

Keep in mind that the RTX 2080 is starting to show its age now. While it's decent, the newer RTX 5060 Ti and 5070 are stronger cards and should provide better performance for newer titles. If your budget allows, consider going for one of the newer models for a longer-lasting solution.

Totally get what you're saying! I've been using my old 1660 for ages, so upgrading to a 5060 Ti sounds better, even if it's just for 8GB right now. It's surprising they still recommend the old 2080 for demanding remasters.
