Hey everyone! I'm looking for some insights on ManageEngine ServiceDesk, especially regarding the differences between the Cloud and On-Prem versions. For 36 technicians and around 1000 nodes, I've done some research and it seems like the Cloud version might be cheaper and more efficient. However, my local supplier insists that the On-Prem version is the more cost-effective choice. I'd love to hear about your experiences with either option!

We switched to the Cloud version a few years back and it's been good, honestly. The updates come through automatically, which is a real lifesaver because we struggled to keep up when we were using the On-Prem setup. We've had a few downtime incidents, but nothing too major. I feel like the Cloud is the way to go, especially for a bigger team like yours!
Maintaining the On-Prem version can be a real hassle. I did it for a decade and dealing with constant updates and occasional upgrade failures was rough! Plus, you'd need a staging environment to ensure everything's worked out before going live. Cloud setups take a lot of that pressure off, which is worth considering.
Honestly, I’d steer clear of both if possible. I’ve found ManageEngine to be less reliable, with concerns over data security. If you have to choose, go with Cloud, but you might want to explore alternatives too. Just my two cents!
I used to use the On-Prem version and it was a nightmare. Keeping up with security updates was tough and customer support didn’t help much. I’ve since moved to Cloud and noticed many features from On-Prem are still missing, but they’re gradually adding more. If you’re leaning towards Cloud, I wholeheartedly support that choice!
That’s good to know! It seems like the Cloud might be the better route, especially with fewer headaches!
Thanks for the insight! The constant updates sound like a headache. I guess that's a big advantage for the Cloud version.
