I'm having some trouble with my gaming performance and I'm starting to wonder if my Ultrawide monitor is to blame. No matter what game I play, I struggle to find the right settings to get them running smoothly. I feel like my PC specs are decent enough to handle most games on lower settings, yet many of them just don't seem stable. For instance, I recently tried playing the Oblivion remaster and I can barely hit 20 fps, even with everything turned down and using FSR along with performance mods. Here are my specs: RX 6600 Eagle, 5600X, 32 GB RAM, MSI B550 motherboard, 750W power supply, and a Sceptre 21:9 2560 x 1080 monitor. I also have an older Acer 1920 x 1080 monitor that I don't use for gaming. Am I missing something, or could my Ultrawide setup really be the problem?

Your RX 6600 might be struggling a bit with higher resolutions like your Ultrawide. Generally, GPUs can slow down when you push for more pixels than they can handle, especially if you're trying to play the latest titles.
With an Ultrawide, you can lose about 30% of your performance compared to a standard monitor. While that’s a notable drop, it usually won’t completely tank your performance. However, you might feel it in more demanding games.
Make sure to look out for any bottlenecks in your system. You can check for overheating CPU/GPU issues using hwinfo. Also, comparing benchmarks of your GPU with similar setups can give you a clearer view of what's going on. If the performance is way off, you may need to dig deeper.
Your 1920 x 1080 monitor could help narrow things down. If you try gaming on that and your fps increases, then your Ultrawide might be impacting performance more than you think. It's definitely worth testing!
Totally agree, it’s a good first step. Plus, if you notice a difference, then you can rule out the monitor theory.
