I've been exploring various Linux distributions over the past couple of months because my Windows system is too slow for Windows 11. I started with Linux Mint but ran into a screen flickering issue, so I decided to try Ubuntu, Pop!_OS, and Zorin, but the flickering persisted along with connection issues. Eventually, I tried Fedora, which solved the flickering and connection problems, but then my hard drive space started disappearing rapidly – my installation grew to 90GB within a week despite only downloading five additional apps. Recently, I switched to Debian, and while the flickering is gone, the connection issues returned. My laptop is a Dell 7300 with an i7 8th gen processor, Intel graphics, and 16GB of RAM. I've read about Arch but it seems too complex for me. Can anyone provide suggestions to resolve these issues?

You might want to check out the distro selection page on the wiki for good recommendations. Also, remember to take regular backups and maybe test things out in a virtual machine. It's key to understand commands before running them!
