Hey everyone! I'm currently a third-year dentistry student, but I also started learning programming about a year ago and have made some great progress. I've built full-stack websites that I'm really proud of. While I find some aspects of dentistry interesting, I definitely enjoy coding more. However, I've been focusing so much on programming that I haven't studied my dentistry materials as much lately. With advancements in AI, I'm concerned that if I switch to programming, I might end up replaced by AI in the job market down the line. I really don't want to regret my decision later on. I'd love to hear your thoughts or advice if you've been in a similar situation!

I think the best approach is to complete your dentistry schooling and keep programming as a hobby. You can always revisit programming later if you want, but switching back to dentistry after dropping out could be really challenging. Plus, programming is constantly evolving and you can adapt to it later on!
Honestly, I'd lean towards finishing your dentistry degree. People will always need dentists, whereas the tech industry is just so unpredictable. I've been laid off as a software engineer myself; it's tough to find a stable job, even with experience. So, keeping your dentistry options open might be the safer bet, even if coding is fun!
Totally agree! Programming is fun, but it can become just another job once you start doing it full-time. At least with dentistry, you have a more secure path.
