I accidentally spilled water on my GPU when my mom was watering plants. A pot started leaking above my PC while I was gaming, and my computer shut down unexpectedly. When I checked, I noticed a significant puddle on top of the GPU. I powered it off immediately, wiped it down, and removed it from my setup. I dried it with a cold hair dryer but could smell something burning, although I'm not sure if it was the GPU or just the plastic. Now, the GPU is drying, but I'm worried about the chances it's damaged. I just bought it a month ago, so I might be able to return it under warranty. It's an RTX 4060. What do you think?

The CPU cooler should be fine since it doesn’t have much electronics, but do check the GPU and motherboard closely. Make sure everything is dry and free of any moisture before trying to power things up again.
Honestly, the chances of it being damaged are pretty high. Keeping your PC under things like that isn’t a great idea, just saying!
You should rinse it with isopropyl alcohol (at least 91%) to remove any residue from the water, and it’s important to let it dry for a few days. A ceiling fan can help speed things up. After that, check if it still works! Oh, and inspect the motherboard for any water too.
I don't have any isopropyl alcohol right now, so I’ll just let it dry a few days and hope for the best.
It’s wild that you had your PC under a plant! But yeah, usually, warranties don’t cover water damage. Just be careful. If you see any signs of water inside your PSU, you’ll need to replace it immediately, but don’t open the PSU yourself!
I didn't really think about it until now. Fortunately, my mom set it up there, and I didn’t notice the risk at first.

Yeah, I hear you! I'm definitely going to make some adjustments to avoid this in the future.
