Do I Need to Use the M.2 SSD Sticker?

I just bought a T-Force G50 M.2 SSD, and I noticed the metal sticker came separately on a plastic backing. Am I supposed to apply this sticker myself? Is it actually necessary? My motherboard has a cover that works as a heat sink for the SSD, so should I leave the sticker off or use it?

Actually, those metallic stickers can help with cooling, acting a bit like a heat spreader, so it might be a good idea to stick it on.

Just keep the sticker on if it fits well. If it's making contact and not too thick, you should be good. But if it interferes with your motherboard's heat sink, then you might need to take it off.

You can leave it off if your motherboard has its own heat sink. The sticker probably isn't needed since you're already covered there.

Typically, the sticker comes attached to the SSD for a reason. Many of them are designed to help with heat distribution, so it’s generally not a good idea to remove it.

Is there a warning that says removing it voids the warranty? That could be important to check before making a decision.
