I have a Corsair CX650 PSU and I'm wondering if I can just plug it directly into the socket or should I invest in an AVR? Would it work without one?

An AVR is mainly for TVs, but I think you meant a UPS or surge protector. You don’t necessarily need one, but it's recommended, especially for high-end PCs. It helps protect your setup from power surges.

Oh I see, thanks for the info bruh.

Just a heads up, AVR can also mean Automatic Voltage Regulator. Most UPS devices have built-in AVR, but it's not widely used in PCs.

Yeah, your setup should work if you just plug it into the wall. However, I highly suggest using a surge protector; it’s a cheap way to guard your PC against any sudden spikes in power.

Why would you need an AVR? I'm curious about your reasoning, but you really should include more details about your setup.

Sorry man, I figured since many computer shops in the Philippines use AVRs, I wanted to clear things up because I've heard different things from various videos.
