Hey everyone! I just upgraded from an RTX 3070 to an RTX 5070, and I'm really confused about some performance issues. With my old 3070, I usually got around 70 FPS on most games, but now with the 5070, I'm only hitting about 50 FPS even on max settings. My setup includes an Intel i7 10700k, a Z490E motherboard, 64GB of DDR4 RAM, a 750-watt Corsair PSU, and a 970 Evo SSD. I'm not sure what's causing this major drop in performance. Any ideas on what I should check or try?

First off, check the resolution of your monitor. Are you using the same one as before? Also, ensure your drivers are fully updated, and maybe run a benchmark test to see if there's an issue with the hardware. It could give you some insight into what’s going wrong.
Make sure your GPU isn’t stuck in power-saving mode and there aren’t any old drivers interfering. It shouldn't be lagging behind the 3070. I'd recommend using DDU to completely remove any old Nvidia drivers and reinstall them fresh. Also, adjust the power settings in Windows and the Nvidia Control Panel to 'Prefer Maximum Performance'.
I did this and my FPS is better! I'm getting 75-90 FPS now, and it feels much smoother even though the numbers seem lower.
I’ll give that a shot and let you know!
