I'm looking to upgrade my computer setup and a friend is selling me their AMD Ryzen 9 7900X and GeForce RTX 4070 for $500. My current setup is quite outdated, so I'm pretty much starting fresh here. I found a [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FdrjDj) list for the new build, but I could really use some advice on whether this setup is good value for gaming and what else I might need to consider. Thanks!

I noticed you might have a wrong link for your PCPartPicker list, so try using the permalink instead. Here’s a quick tip: to generate an anonymous permalink, go to your list and click 'Edit this Part List' first. It makes sharing easier!

What’s your main use for the computer? Do you have a total budget in mind? If gaming is the focus, knowing your budget helps tailor the parts for performance. Just so you know, this combo can be awesome for gaming on a tight budget! You mentioned staying around $1200 to $1300, which is reasonable for a good build in California.

Mostly gaming, especially CS2 and titles like RDR2 and CP2077. Yeah, I'm trying to keep it around that budget as I'm also moving right now.

I've taken a look at your parts list, and here's what I suggest for a solid build:
- **CPU Cooler**: The Thermalright AQUA ELITE is a great choice, it will keep your new CPU cool during gaming sessions.
- **Motherboard**: Go with the MSI PRO B650-S, it offers good features for the price.
- **Memory**: 32GB of RAM is perfect for gaming and multitasking, so the TEAMGROUP option looks good.
- **Storage**: The 2TB NVMe SSD from Silicon Power will give you plenty of space and fast load times.
- **Case**: The Lian Li Lancool 207 is not only stylish but offers good airflow.
- **Power Supply**: The Montech 850W Gold certified is a solid choice that'll power this build efficiently.
Overall, your total comes to around $550, which is decent for the components you're getting! Just ensure your case has good airflow and you're set!

Sounds like a good setup! Just make sure to check the compatibility of the CPU cooler with your case and motherboard.
