Hey everyone,
I've been stuck trying to log into my legacy Apple ID, which I set up over ten years ago when I briefly had an iPhone. I haven't had any Apple products since then, and now I'm looking to buy a new iPhone, but I'm running into issues.
1. I managed to reset my password, but every time I try to log in, I just get stuck in an endless loading cycle before it fails. I've tried accessing my account on two different browsers on my PC and two mobile devices, but nothing works. I even called Apple support, and they mentioned that there's a known issue with outdated legacy accounts, but they can't give me a timeline for the fix. They suggested I should create a new account with a different email.
2. I've tried setting up new accounts using several different emails (both Gmail and Proton Mail) and even changed my phone number. Unfortunately, I keep hitting the message, "Your account cannot be created at this time." I'm beginning to wonder if having the same name and birthday might be causing a conflict because of the legacy account issue.
I just want to get a new iPhone but I'm stuck not being able to create or access an Apple account. Any help or suggestions would be super appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like you're in quite the pickle! Apple has indeed purged many inactive accounts recently, and if your account wasn't affected, you might be dealing with this legacy issue that they're aware of. More frustratingly, you might just have to wait until they fully resolve this problem. In the meantime, trying to create an account with a fresh start could be tricky if the system is still recognizing those old details, like your name and birthday. But hang tight, you're not alone in this!
You're definitely not the only one experiencing this! I tried creating an account from my Pixel using a new email, and I ended up in the same 'circle of death.' It's so annoying, right? Some folks have had success using different email providers or even trying friends' devices, but it can be hit or miss. Have you thought about reaching out to Apple support again? Sometimes a fresh voice on the line can help move things along, even if it feels like a hassle.

Thanks for the tips! I might try contacting them again. It's just so frustrating getting stuck like this.
