Having trouble with Wi-Fi on Windows 11 after a clean install

I recently did a clean install of Windows 11 due to some boot loop issues. Everything was working fine before the reinstall, but now I can't access the internet on my PC. I can connect to my dorm's Wi-Fi, which uses a captive portal, but the login page never loads. I'm also having the same issue with my phone's hotspot; it connects but has no internet access. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including releasing and renewing my IP address, resetting the Winsock, performing a network reset, updating and reinstalling the Wi-Fi drivers, disabling IPv6, and changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8. I even attempted accessing http://neverssl.com and the gateway IP, but nothing seems to be working. It feels like Windows is blocking HTTP/HTTPS completely, and I really need help to fix this and restore my internet connection on this PC. Thanks!

It sounds like you’ve already tried a lot of things! One thing that might help is checking your firewall settings. Sometimes after a fresh install, the firewall can block network access. You can temporarily disable it to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, you might need to adjust the settings so it doesn't interfere with your internet connection. Also, make sure that the network type is set to ‘Private’ in network settings instead of ‘Public’. That can sometimes help with captive portals.

Good point! And if that doesn't work, you could also try creating a new network profile from scratch. Sometimes the system holds onto old settings that can cause conflicts.

It might be worth checking if any other network services are affecting your connection. Sometimes third-party software can cause issues like this after a clean install. If you're using any VPNs or security software, try disabling them temporarily to see if that changes anything.

Thanks, I haven’t thought about the VPN! I’ll give that a shot and see if it helps.
