I'm in the process of building my first PC and I've just set up a Gigabyte B550 Eagle Wifi6 motherboard with a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU. After assembling everything—including the motherboard, CPU, GPU, and PSU—I decided to boot the system before putting it in the case. I encountered a message saying:
"New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP structure changed. Press Y to reset fTPM, if you have Bitlocker or encryption enabled, the system will not boot without a recovery key. Press N to keep the previous fTPM record and continue system boot; fTPM will NOT be available in the new CPU. You can swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM-related keys and data."
Out of curiosity, I pressed Del to enter the BIOS, but it got stuck on "Entering setup" for about 15 minutes. I then pressed Y, and now I'm facing a black screen. The PC seems to be running fine otherwise, but I can't get past the black screen and even the PSU fans have stopped spinning. Help!

How does that work? This is my first build and I’m a bit lost on boot drives. Do I need to install Windows first or something?
You might just need to connect a boot drive. Without an operating system installed, the system can struggle to boot up properly. Make sure you have your SSD or HDD plugged in and try booting again.

Yes, you need to install an operating system on your boot drive, like Windows. You can use a USB drive with a Windows installation to get started!
