Hey folks! I signed up for a free trial of Super Duolingo on May 20th, expecting to be charged on May 27th after receiving a notification that I'd be warned two days before the charge. To my surprise, I got charged a day early, on May 26th. I applied for a refund through Apple, but they declined my request. I reached out to Duolingo's customer service, explained my situation, and sent screenshots, but I haven't heard back in over a week. People mentioned that Duolingo usually does well with refunds, so I was hopeful. Duolingo's response directed me back to Apple support, which has been frustrating because I can't figure out how to email them to explain my issue. I live in the EU and know I have a 14-day withdrawal right. I'm worried I can't reverse the payment through my bank because I used Revolut. Any advice on how to contact Apple effectively to resolve this?

To avoid being billed unexpectedly, Apple states that you should cancel at least 24 hours prior to renewal. They won't clarify the exact time you might be billed, which can confuse customers. I recommend calling Apple Support with your case number and asking to speak with a senior advisor. If you canceled on the 26th and they charged you before the renewal date, they might escalate your case for a refund. If that doesn't work, try reaching out to an executive email for further assistance. You can find contact details here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/106932. Good luck!
Why do so many posts about refunds include personal stories about money struggles? It's really not the relevant part of the question. Just focus on the refund process, guys.
