Help Me Build a PC for My Dad

I'm trying to build a PC for my dad after his laptop unexpectedly died. He recently received a $2,000 check from a job and is looking for an upgrade. He wants to play World of Warcraft with my mom and also work on house design software. I'm specifically looking for recommendations on a graphics card since prices for the 7800XT and 4070 seem pretty high right now. Additionally, I have a case in mind, but I'm open to suggestions for other components. It's also important to note that he needs two monitors, so I won't be spending the entire $2,000 on the PC itself—about $100 for each monitor seems reasonable. Any advice to help me update my parts list would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a suggested build that might fit your budget well: If your budget is $2,000, aim for a 7800X3D CPU—it’s impressive for gaming and tasks. You should also consider spending a bit more on decent monitors, like $200 for 1440p ones instead of $100 for 1080p. For the case, the Montech Air 903 MAX offers great airflow without being too pricey. Lastly, swap the PSU to a beQuiet! model; it’s reliable!

Thanks for the detailed suggestions! I'll definitely look into the Montech case and beQuiet! PSU. Your insights are super helpful!

I've built a similar setup with a 7800XT and it's been great! Runs most games at high settings, including 1440p. I’m not an expert on World of Warcraft, but from what I’ve seen, the 7800XT should handle it well. If you can find it at a decent price, it’s a solid choice!
