I'm looking for some advice on selecting a 1440p monitor to pair with my upcoming gaming build that features an RX 9070 XT and a 7800X3D processor. I've decided to go with IPS panels since I primarily play FPS games, and while OLED options are tempting, they tend to be more expensive and I don't think the benefits would outweigh the cost for my use case. The cheapest OLED I've found in Australia is the Alienware AW2725D, priced at around $593 AUD.
I've heard a lot of good things about the AOC Q27G40XMN at about $329 AUD, but it uses a VA panel and I'm concerned about potential black smearing, so I'm leaning away from that. Xiaomi's new Mini-LED IPS model, the G Pro 27Qi, is also interesting at around $499 AUD, but there aren't many reviews available yet.
For my IPS options, I'm unsure which refresh rate would be ideal, but I'm thinking at least 180Hz is necessary for competitive FPS gaming. Here's a list of IPS monitors I'm considering:
- Gigabyte GS27QA – 180Hz – $219
- MSI MAG 275QF – 180Hz – $229
- Gigabyte G27Q2 – 210Hz – $259
- KTC H27T22S – 180Hz – $289.99
- LG UltraGear G6 27G610A-B – 200Hz – $299
- Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ5A – 210Hz – $299
- Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A – 180Hz – $314
- Gigabyte GS27Q X – 250Hz – $329
- Gigabyte M27Q2 QD – 210Hz – $339
- LG 27GS75Q-B – 180Hz – $349
- Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQL5A – 210Hz – $369
- Gigabyte M27Q3 – 320Hz – $379
I'm trying to figure out which one of these is the best bang for your buck, particularly as prices go up past $400–$450 AUD since I'm not sure if an IPS is worth it over an OLED for gaming after that point. Any help would be appreciated!

I've got the Alienware AW2725D and I have to say, if you're into stunning visuals, it's hard to beat an OLED. I've been using it for about four months now, and the image quality is fantastic. However, I also have the MSI MAG275QF as a secondary, and it's a decent IPS monitor for gaming if you're on a budget. Just keep in mind, side by side with the OLED, the difference is noticeable, and it might not be worth the extra cash if you don't plan on using it for long gaming sessions because of concerns like burn-in.

But is it really worth three times the price? I’ve heard people say OLEDs have issues with burn-in for regular use like studying or working on projects.
