I'm looking for advice on which Linux distribution to set up on my laptop. Here's what I've got: an Intel Core i5-10210U CPU, 20 GB of RAM, and a 64-bit operating system. I also have an NVIDIA MX250, even though it's not showing up in my system specs. My main activities include programming games on GameMaker, watching video tutorials, playing indie games, and using emulators for some retro gaming. I have minimal Linux experience, but I enjoyed using the Steam Deck and want something that gives a similar desktop experience. Which distro do you recommend?

When I got started with Linux, I was advised to test various distros using a Live USB or a virtual machine. This way, you can try out different desktop environments without messing with your current setup. Plus, tools like Ventoy are super helpful for this!
Kubuntu or PopOS are great choices! They're stable, easy to use, and should suit your needs well for gaming and programming.
Absolutely! Testing distros this way is smart. You'll quickly find what's comfortable for you.
