I'm in the market for a new gaming laptop and I've narrowed it down to two Asus ROG Strix models: the G814JIR-XS96, which is listed at $3100 but currently on sale for $2500, and the G814JIR-BS91-CB, priced at $2700 but on sale for $2600. From my research, I found that the first one comes with Windows Pro while the second one has Windows Home, and they may have different displays. The first option is quite a distance away, about four hours drive, and I can't get it shipped due to some issues on their end. Instead, they've offered me the second option for $2480, which includes a 2TB SSD for a total of 3TB of storage. I'm trying to understand why there's a price difference and whether the second option is a good deal or if I should make the drive for the first one. Any insights would be appreciated!

Sharing links to the laptops is a smart move! That way, we can assess their specs directly. Always a good idea to look at exact configurations before deciding. Good luck!
Tough choice! Make sure to check the reputation of the 3rd party seller if that’s the route you’re considering. Open box deals can be tricky. But if Best Buy is selling the open box unit with Geek Squad certification, that’s a safer bet! Just weigh the distance against the savings – it could be worth it in the long run.
Sorry for the confusion! The 3rd party seller isn't the one I'm buying from; I'm going through Best Buy for the in-store open box. Thanks for clarifying! And I totally get that my original post was a bit confusing.
No worries! Just wanted to make sure you know what you’re getting into. Best of luck with your purchase!
Done. Thanks for the tip!
