Hey everyone, I'm reaching out for some help with a frustrating issue I'm having with my 7800X3D build. I've been building PCs for a while, but this one has me stumped. My setup includes a 7800X3D CPU, a Thermaltake Peerless Assassin 120SE cooler, an Asus B650E-I motherboard, 32GB of Teamgroup Tcreate Expert DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz, a 4080 Super GPU, and a Corsair SF750 power supply. It was all running smoothly until last month when it suddenly stopped posting. I was browsing online when the system just restarted out of the blue. Now, it won't boot properly – all I see is a yellow DRAM light and constant restarts, making it nearly impossible to access the BIOS. Here's what I've tried so far:

1. Resetting the CMOS with jumper pins on the Asus motherboard.
2. Swapped the RAM with some slower 5600MHz Crucial sticks.
3. Updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version.
4. Tried using just the integrated GPU by removing the GPU.
5. Replaced the PSU with a different one.
6. Checked the motherboard pins and reseated the CPU and cooler.
7. Got a new Asrock B620I motherboard, but faced the same black screen upon boot.
8. Reset the CMOS on the new motherboard and updated its BIOS, but still no luck.

After suspecting the memory controller on the CPU, I swapped in my friend's 7600X and everything worked perfectly. I RMA'd the 7800X3D, got a replacement, but the same issues persist. Could it really be the CPU again, or could it be related to voltages? I could use some fresh perspectives here!

Have you tried using your friend's 7600X in your setup? It might help rule out whether it's a motherboard issue after all.

—Edit: Oops, I see now that you already tested your 7800X3D in your friend's system, so my bad on that thought.

Are you absolutely sure the replacement CPU is actually brand new? Sometimes companies can mess up and send back the same part if their RMA process isn't perfect.
