I've got a Canon G3012 that's a bit older now. I didn't use it for about 3-4 months, and now when I turn it on, it just won't print anything. I've tried quite a few things, including deep cleaning it using the LCD display control (numbers 2 and 3), but I keep getting a P08 error. I've spent hours researching how printers work and even tried warming up the ink pipes inside the printhead. I'm starting to think Canon is practicing planned obsolescence. I also made sure to clean off any dust on the outside since I'm pretty desperate. I really need this printer to work and don't want to buy a new one just to have it sit around for a few months again. Can anyone help?

If your printer doesn’t have an auto-cleaning feature, the ink might just have dried up inside. It’s usually a good idea to print something at least once a week to keep everything flowing. You could also think about getting a new cartridge, but I recommend going for a compatible one instead of the original brand since they often cost less.
It sounds like your printer might just be having trouble because of the P08 error. This usually means the ink tanks are empty. Make sure they’re filled! To fix the error, turn off the printer, then turn it back on to reset. After that, press the settings button followed by the + button 10 times and then the black copy button. It should start the ink flush process and hopefully resolve the issue.
First, can you tell us what operating system you're using on your computer? Is your printer connected via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi? Also, have you tried printing a manual test page? That might help us figure out if the issue is connectivity or something else.
