Help! My Cat Is Messing With My PC and Breaking My AMD Drivers

I'm really struggling with a bizarre issue that seems to be caused by my cat climbing behind my PC. She often gets tangled in the cables, and every time she does, my AMD GPU drivers get totally wrecked. My monitors go dark and refuse to turn back on until I reboot, and even then, only one monitor comes on with very limited display options. I have to uninstall and reinstall the AMD drivers to get everything working again, but I've also run into errors doing that. Here are my specs: 7800X3D, Powercolor 7900XTX, ASRock B650E Motherboard, Hyte Y60 case with a GPU riser. Could she be jostling the cables enough to break a connection? I can't figure out how a cat's casual stroll could cause such a mess!

Since drivers are software, the hardware must be getting affected in some way. I’d focus on checking cables and ports rather than the drivers themselves.

Honestly, I doubt your cat is the issue here. It sounds more like a hardware failure. Cats don't mess around with device managers, after all! It could be a loose connection or some other hardware flaw. Sometimes, just moving cables even slightly can cause those weird driver errors. Keep an eye on your DisplayPort cables—they might be the culprits!

I'm genuinely intrigued about how your cat seems to wreak havoc on your drivers. Is it just this one cat, or do all your pets have this power? It's almost like something from a sci-fi movie! Maybe there’s more to it than meets the eye.

You might want to try using a pet-safe motion sensor device to keep your cat away from the cables. They can shoot out air whenever she gets too close, so she won't associate anything negative with you. As for the issues with your monitors, usually, it's a matter of checking the physical hardware like the monitors or the cables first. If the monitors turn on fine, then it's not likely them. And if using a different computer works with your cables, then they should be okay too. It’s definitely worth looking into your setup for any loose connections too!

They probably use your PC when you’re sleeping! I've heard wild stories about that! Just kidding, but honestly, keep an eye on any loose cables—that might be the real issue.
