I'm having a tough time with our FortiClient VPN consistently dropping connections every 15 to 30 minutes when used over Comcast/Xfinity. We have about 20 remote employees all facing this issue, and it seems to happen more often during file uploads. They are all using the Comcast modem router combos (like XB6/7/8) and connect over Wi-Fi. Switching to a cable connection resolves the problem, and even hotspot tests show stable connections. It's perplexing because not every Comcast user is affected, and we've tried various troubleshooting steps, including changing Wi-Fi bands and replacing modems, but nothing has worked. I'm hoping to find others who might be experiencing similar issues or have suggestions on how to resolve it!

This could be an issue with either FortiClient or Comcast. I suggest running some ping tests to diagnose. Open three terminal windows and ping these three addresses: 8.8.8.8 (Google), the VPN gateway IP, and your home router’s IP. If all three go unresponsive when the VPN drops, it points to your ISP. If the Google ping stays up while the others drop, it might indicate jitter or a specific issue with the VPN client.
What VPN protocol are you currently using? We've seen fewer disconnects after switching to IPsec over TCP. If you're using SSL VPN, it might be worth a consideration to switch protocols when you can.
If you’re on Windows, try disabling IPv6 in your network settings. Sometimes IPv6 can cause issues with FortiClient and might help keep your connection stable. You can find the option in the network adapter settings.
