Help! My Gaming PC Build for My Fiancée Isn’t Working Right

I built a gaming PC for my fiancée's 30th birthday because she's been playing on an old RTX 3070 laptop that barely hits 20-30 fps. She enjoys heavily modded games on our 98-inch TV, which supports 120 Hz at 4K. Here's the build: Ryzen 9 9950X3D, RTX 5090 Aorus Master ICE, X870E Aorus Pro Ice motherboard, 192 GB DDR5 RAM, a solid 5 TB of NVMe storage, and a fully decked-out cooling system. While the PC powers on with fans and RGB lights, it showed no monitor signal. After some fiddling, it finally displayed BIOS, but the boot time is painfully slow — anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. I need help figuring out what's going wrong and how to get this thing functioning smoothly before her birthday!

If you’re able to, try updating your BIOS. You should be able to do that directly in the BIOS menu if it comes up at all. Hope it all works out in time for her birthday!

It’s definitely tricky when you have all four RAM slots filled. Typically, that can prevent you from reaching the speeds you're hoping for. You might want to try running it with only two sticks installed to see if that solves performance issues.

Interesting! I always thought more RAM was better, but I see what you mean.

Check the two-digit display codes in your motherboard manual. They can give you clues about what's wrong. From what you've described, it sounds like you might be missing a power connection for the CPU or that your motherboard needs a BIOS update to support the CPU. Don't stress too much; the first boot can often take longer than usual. Good luck!

First boot can be super slow with a long black screen while it gets through the initial cycles. I’ve also run into issues where I have to unplug and replug the monitor connection to get a display. Ensure that your BIOS update file is just that — no extra files or folders on the drive!

You might want to test the system without the Lian Li Strimers. Sometimes those can cause issues, especially if they're not wired properly. Also, double-check that your RAM is in the correct slots; that can make a big difference in performance.
