I was on a call today and tried to plug in my Lexar portable SSD to move some files around, but it just wouldn't work. After the call, I unplugged the SSD and plugged it back in, only for a 'repairing drive' message to pop up. I thought it would just take a moment and then say everything was fine, like it had done before, but this time the green bar got stuck at full. I looked online and found some info saying it might be because the drive is broken. Now I'm scared to plug it back in since it holds all my video footage. What should I do?

It sounds like your drive might be in trouble, especially since it got stuck on the repair screen. Before you plug it back in, I’d recommend trying it on another computer if you can. If it’s still unresponsive, it might be time to consider professional data recovery. Just remember, always have multiple backups—preferably 3 copies on 2 different drives, plus 1 in the cloud. That way if something fails, you won’t lose everything!
Don’t plug it in unless you’re ready to risk losing everything! It’s best to keep it off until you can assess the situation more safely. If possible, remove any important files you can access first on a different machine. And remember, when it comes to important data, being cautious is key!

Totally agree! That’s the best strategy for keeping your data safe. But for now, try that other computer first—just to see if it’s truly bricked.
