So, I've run into a bit of a problem with my Minecraft server. My IPv4 address changed unexpectedly, and now my server isn't showing up online. I've made changes to the port forwarding settings on my modem, but it still won't boot. I can join it using localhost since I can access it via my IPv4 address, but my friends can't connect using the external IP. My old IP ended with .184 and now it's .188. Has anyone else dealt with this issue and found a solution?

It sounds like you might be on a dynamic IP setup since most residential internet connections are. When you restart your router, your public IP can change. Have you checked if you've set a static local IP for your server? If your router has restarted and the local IP changed, you might be forwarding to the wrong address now. Make sure to check that.
Yikes, that can be frustrating! Make sure that your modem is forwarding traffic to your router, which then forwards it to your PC. That could be the missing piece since the router IPs changed.
You might want to try using a DDNS service. It helps in keeping your server accessible even when your IP changes, which can really simplify things.
I did change the IP in the port forwarding settings on both the modem and the router, but I'm still having issues. It really worked fine until now, and it's driving me crazy.
