Help! My PC Won’t Boot After a Short Circuit During Fan Installation

Hey everyone, I need some advice! I recently had a couple of technicians come over to install a new ceiling fan in my room. Unfortunately, during the install, they caused a short circuit that tripped the power in my whole house. Now my PC is acting weird! It's powering on - all the RGB lights are shining, and the GPU fan is spinning, but there's no display on the screen. The EZ Debug LED on my motherboard is stuck on a solid white light indicating a CPU issue.

I've tried a few things to fix it, like pulling all the RAM out and switching the LED to DRAM, and testing each RAM stick individually, but I'm still getting the CPU LED problem. I even removed the GPU and tried using the iGPU, but still no display.

Does anyone know what could be going on with my PC?

You should definitely talk to the company that sent those technicians! It sounds like they may owe you some compensation since their work damaged your property.

Oh no! If your PC was on when that short circuit happened, it might have seriously damaged either the motherboard or the CPU. That's a tough break!

I reached out to the technician, and he said, "Every PC has its own fuse, so normally a short circuit shouldn't damage it. Try plugging it into a different power outlet." I'm not sure he really knows what he's talking about, though.

It sounds like your surge protector might have been the issue. If it was low quality or malfunctioning, it might not have protected your PC like it should have.

Yeah, I was using a Belkin surge protector with six plugs. I thought that would keep everything safe, but now I'm not so sure.
