Hey folks, I've hit a snag and could use your advice. My uncle recently had Windows 11 re-installed on his laptop, and now it's asking for a BitLocker key for the D drive. We can't seem to find the key anywhere – does anyone know if there's a way to recover data from that drive or any workaround to bypass the BitLocker protection? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can't pull the BitLocker key from the system anymore. Since the TPM was cleared during the reinstall, it’s essentially locked you out without the key.

Just so you know, when you reinstalled Windows, you likely wiped the auto-unlock key that BitLocker uses. Those keys are sometimes backed up in the cloud, but it sounds like you might not have any luck there.

Is there a way Microsoft could assist if we paid them for support? There are some crucial files on that drive.
