Hi everyone! I'm encountering a puzzling problem with my Windows Server 2022 virtual machine that's running on Proxmox. Here's the situation: I can't log in at all. When I try to use my domain user account, it fails, and even the Local Administrator account gives me an "incorrect password" error, even though I know the password is right. I've booted into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to troubleshoot, but the disk initially wasn't visible until I loaded the VirtIO drivers manually. After that, it showed up, but the main volume was marked as **RAW** and later as **NTFS**, with the message that the disk structure is corrupt and it's write-protected. I've tried running repairs like `chkdsk`, but it can't proceed due to the write-protection. I also checked the Proxmox storage, and everything seems fine there. The server still boots normally, but I can't authenticate in any way. I'm really confused about why WinRE sees the disk as RAW and read-only when Windows boots fine. What can I do to regain access? Should I try resetting the password or repairing the system? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Another thing to try is to unplug the VM from the network and reboot it. Sometimes, cached credentials can help you log in. It’s worth a shot!
Is your VM acting as a Domain Controller? If it is, that could complicate the local account access. If not, have you tried using a fresh server installation to check if login works there? You could restore from a backup later if needed.
You might want to create a new local admin account and make sure to remember the new password! Then, disconnect the VM from the domain and rejoin it. That could help your domain credentials start working again. After you regain access, you can delete that temporary admin account.
