Help! Ordered Wrong Acer Charger Pin – Should I Use a Converter or Sell It?

I own an Acer Aspire Lite AL15-51, and I recently faced an issue with my charger. The original charger has a thick pin (5.5mm) but when my charger stopped working, I mistakenly ordered a replacement that has a thin pin (45W) directly from Acer's online store. The replacement arrived correctly but fits loosely in my laptop's port, and I contacted Acer support right away. Unfortunately, they refused to exchange it due to their policy on wrong selections, and visiting an authorized service center yielded the same refusal. Now I'm stuck with a brand-new original Acer charger that I can't use safely. I can't afford to buy a new correct charger, so I'm wondering if I should use a DC pin converter to adapt the thin pin to fit into my thick-pin laptop, or if I should sell the charger and use the money to buy the right one instead. Is using a DC pin converter safe for long-term use? Are there any alternatives, like getting a universal charger? And if selling is the better option, what's a reasonable price for a brand-new original Acer adapter? Where's the best place to sell it? Any specific recommendations on what to look for in a converter to avoid damaging the DC port?

You might want to check the consumer rights laws in your area. Sometimes, you can return products even if it's not a standard policy. As for the DC pin converter, it can work but might not be the best option for long-term use since it can damage your laptop's charging port over time since it sticks out.

So using a converter might not be the best idea, huh?
