Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I've found myself completely lost when it comes to upgrading my pre-built PC that I got back in 2020. I bought it in a hurry during college midterms and didn't have time to learn much about it. I've realized now that I definitely need more storage and probably some more RAM too, but I really don't know where to start.
I checked out Corsair's website to learn more about upgrading my RAM, but it's just overwhelming with all the details. I'm also concerned about whether I need to upgrade my power supply if I add more RAM and storage. Here are the specs of my current machine:
- **GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
- **CPU:** Intel Core i7-10700F @ 2.90GHz
- **Motherboard:** ASUS TUF GAMING B460M-Plus (WI-FI)
- **Power Supply:** I can't figure out what it is without disassembling the case
- **RAM:** OLOY, 16GB total (2x8), 2/4 slots used
- **Storage:** T-FORCE 512GB Fixed Hard Disk (3 partitions)
I know this is a bit of a mess, but my PC runs pretty great overall. The only frustrating issue is sometimes running out of storage, and I've had crashes in my heavily modded Skyrim. So, I'm hoping for some friendly recommendations on RAM and storage upgrades without breaking the bank. Thanks in advance!

You don't necessarily need to worry about upgrading your power supply just to add RAM or storage. Both upgrades generally don't pull much power. Your 512GB T-Force might be an SSD, which is great for speed! Your motherboard supports two M.2 SSDs, so you can easily expand your storage there.
I thought that too, but someone told me I could run into issues if I didn’t upgrade other components. It’s confusing! But I still have no clue about which RAM or storage is compatible.
