Help with Aerial TV Setup After Moving

Hi everyone! I've just moved into a new place and I'm trying to set up my aerial TV connection. The cable coming from the wall is a double coaxial type. I purchased an adapter to connect the old male connector from the cable to my Samsung smart TV, but despite trying both connectors, the TV isn't picking up any channels during the scan. I'm looking for any tips or guidance on how to troubleshoot this problem!

Just a tip: the double coax cable is often for satellite dishes. If you can't find an antenna, it’s possible you might need to get one. Also, check if the cable you're trying to connect leads to an actual antenna and not a cable TV service, as that can cause issues too.

Good point! I’ll make sure it’s going to an antenna.

Did you check both ends of the cable? Sometimes the connector at the wall can be the issue too, so it might be worth playing around with that to see if it makes any difference. Just a thought!

I haven't been able to locate the other end in the wall; it's been tricky!

First off, make sure to check if there's an actual aerial on the roof or somewhere in your house. Sometimes they can be tucked away in the attic or behind walls. Also, double-check any fuse boards and see if there are other coax connections elsewhere in the house. If you don’t spot an aerial, you can buy one online or at a local store. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! I checked but didn't see any visible aerials. I’ll check the attic next.

If you don’t find one, definitely consider getting a powered aerial; they work pretty well!
