Help with Shrinking C Drive for Dual Booting

I'm trying to set up a dual-boot system on my HP laptop running Windows 11, but I'm having trouble shrinking my C drive partition to make space for Linux. After a factory reset, I deleted unnecessary files and disabled BitLocker encryption, but I can only shrink the partition by about 2000 MB. Is there something I'm missing or another way I can free up space? I'm really stressed about this, so any help would be appreciated!

You might want to try using GParted! It’s a free tool that lets you manage your drive partitions easily. All you need is a USB drive to make it work. Just remember to disable BitLocker if your drive is encrypted.

Doesn't GParted only work on Linux? I've heard mixed things about it.

Have you thought about turning off hibernation? Sometimes, hibernation can interfere with partition resizing. If you're running Windows Pro, you might also look into using Hyper-V as an alternative solution for running Linux.

I turned off hibernation, but I'm not using Pro, so that option isn't available to me.

If GParted isn't working for you, consider reinstalling Windows and doing the partitioning then. This way, you start fresh instead of dealing with leftover settings from the factory reset, which might help with the error you're experiencing.

But wouldn't that just lead to the same issue again?
