I'm swapping out the old 1TB 5200 RPM hard drive in my Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop for a new 1TB Samsung 870 EVO SATA III SSD. I need to clone the existing hard drive to the SSD so that it remains bootable and keeps all my data intact. Since there's no space for an additional drive in my laptop, I'm wondering if I need to take it to a professional, or if there's a method I can use at home. My current hard drive is showing errors, so I need to get this done soon but am on a budget. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You could also consider using Samsung's Magician software, which is free. This requires a USB to SATA adapter too for connecting the SSD. Once cloned, you can switch out the drives. Easy peasy!
One option is to get a USB to SATA adapter for less than $10. You can connect the SSD via USB, then use software like Macrium Reflect to clone your old hard drive to the new SSD. This way, you can do it all yourself without needing to take it to a shop!
I like using Clonezilla for this. Just download it, create a Live USB, and boot from it. It allows you to clone your old drive directly to the SSD after connecting it via a USB adapter. It's a bit technical but very effective!
Yeah, Clonezilla works well if you're comfortable with it. Just follow the guides online!

I totally agree! Macrium Reflect is user-friendly and works great for cloning.
