I recently got an LG Ultragear 24GS65F monitor, and to fully utilize its impressive 180Hz refresh rate, I need to connect it using a DisplayPort 1.4. At the moment, I'm using an HDMI 2.0 connection, which only lets me reach 120Hz. Although I have a DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor, my Mac's multi-port adapter only has HDMI ports. I'm wondering if I should get a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter or a DisplayPort to HDMI (male to female) cable, or if there's a better solution altogether.

Unfortunately, you can't use a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter in this case since DisplayPort needs to be coming from the source (your computer) instead of the monitor side. You want to connect your Mac to the monitor using the DisplayPort directly.
Got it! So would using a DisplayPort to HDMI cable be a better alternative than an adapter?
