I have an older HP Z440 Workstation that doesn't have built-in wireless capabilities. My WiFi router is quite far from my room, so I set up a WiFi extender and connected it via Ethernet. However, I'm experiencing very low speeds with this setup. For example, my ping in Valorant is between 200-400 ms, while other laptops on the same network are getting around 13 ms. I'm looking for solutions to improve this connection or any products that will allow me to connect to WiFi more reliably.

Consider installing a PCI WiFi card in your workstation. It's a solid upgrade and can significantly improve your connection if you prefer to go wireless. Just check the configuration to ensure compatibility with your Z440.
You might want to try Powerline Ethernet adapters. They can use your electrical wiring to transmit Internet signals and often offer a more stable connection than WiFi extenders, especially if WiFi signal is weak. It could help with your ping issues in games too!
I hear they're kind of pricey, though. Might not be the best fit for everyone.
I was thinking about that too. Do they really work well, though?
