I'm having trouble with my drives where I can't delete or edit anything, and I've discovered they have a '-ro' attribute. Reinstalling Windows isn't something I want to do right now. Is there a way to disable fast startup to help with this issue? I really don't want to format my drives because they contain a lot of important data.

You could try using `ntfsfix` to clear the 'dirty' flag from your NTFS filesystem, which might make your drives writable again. Just a heads up, this may not resolve all underlying issues, and there's a possibility of data corruption. Ideally, you should think about moving your data elsewhere and reformatting to a Linux-friendly filesystem if you don't need Windows compatibility anymore. Just remember to back up your data no matter what you decide to do!
Just keep in mind that disabling the fast startup in the BIOS isn't the same thing as disabling it in Windows. Make sure you've checked both places to ensure everything's set right.
You might want to check your BIOS settings to disable fast startup. Sometimes it gets switched back on unexpectedly, so it's worth a look.
