I'm working on a project that demands a lot more coding than my previous ones, and I'm curious about how to keep Claude running for several hours. The longest session I managed was about 55 minutes, but I've seen people here mention running it for much longer. What techniques or prompts have you used to extend the runtime? I'm aiming for Claude to help with ongoing tasks without cutting off every hour or so. Right now, I have it create a to-do list before I compact it, which seems somewhat effective, but I'm looking for more solid strategies.

To keep Claude running longer, try whitelisting all the codes you believe it will need. It cuts down on distractions and helps it focus on the task at hand. At least that’s what I’ve found works for me!
Haha, true! But I often hear that Claude can go off on tangents. I've tackled that by giving it a clear task list—much better results when it has a defined path.
